The Baofeng UV-13 Pro is the latest generation in the line of budget two way radios from China. This latest model has 999 memories and a claimed 10 watts output – but is this really true? The Chinese have a reputation for over stating output power in their marketing literature and many other radios fall short of the claimed spec. We test one out, putting it through its paces both on the test meter and with a on air live test.

  1. Thanks, Simon for some very useful information about the UV-13. I’ve just received mine from AliExpress and look forward to trying it out. I’ve struggled with earlier Baofeng radios and it’s good to hear that this one is more ‘friendly’.
